Brake Discs

As the customer is the focal point of our programme, TRW has created a range of brake discs to suit even the most discerning needs. With the incorporation of new features such as painted discs, integrated bearings and ABS sensor rings, the added value features of our brake discs are clear. One of the aims of TRW's product policy has always been to have the best coverage for braking products in Europe:

Range Coverage

Manufacturing

TRW produce over 12,000,000 OE and Independent Aftermarket (IAM) discs every year. TRW makes each disc to the same exacting standards as original equipment (OE) discs. Brake discs are manufactured at TRW's state of the art facility in Frydlant, Czech Republic

Testing

X-ray and Metalloscopic tests ensure the absence of cracks and imperfections in all TRW's brake discs. Mechanical properties are checked in every batch of castings. TRW's engineering centre, based in our at OE factory in the Czech Republic, performs functional tests to OE standard requirements of all disc families on dynamometers.

Painted Brake Discs

TRW has recently announced the introduction of an exclusive, new range of painted brake discs into the European aftermarket. The new range is coated in a special black paint specifically developed by TRW to create a unique surface which adds a protective barrier against rust. The paint has a special finish for the discerning motorist. Like all TRW discs, the range is rigorously tested to the highest standard including Dyno testing, car tests and salt spray tests.

Integrated bearings and ABS sensor rings

When replacing a brake disc, it is almost impossible to remove the bearing or the in-built sensor ring (which in most of the cases is highly corroded) from the disc without causing damage. ABS sensor rings are not available in the independent aftermarket so TRW has decided to bring its customers the perfect solution: brake discs with integrated bearings and ABS sensor rings. Each disc, regardless of weight or measure, comes individually packed in order to avoid damaging its sensitive components.

High Carbon Discs

Thanks to the demand for improved quality standards in modern vehicles, TRW has introduced new High Carbon specification discs for selected high end and critical vehicle applications. High Carbon compounds improve the damping behaviour of the discs resulting in better stability against distortion and consequently provide noise and judder free performance. Look out for the sticker on the box !!!

Fixing Screws

As part of TRW Automotive Aftermarket's product development strategy, we are now including two new fixing screws with a wide range of our discs. This saves time and effort by not having to reuse often damaged or corroded screws, and results in a safer job. This new development is also indicated with a sticker:
