Having the direct relationship to all big vehicle manufacturers TRW develops and produces all major components of the steering and suspension systems including suspension ball joints, tie rod ends, axial rods, track control arms and stabiliser links. Developing each of these individual elements ensures TRW can maintain a global view on the full steering and suspension system.

TRW steering and suspension parts are manufactured to TRW’s OE specifications – quality is everything. TRW employs more than 4,000 engineers, scientists and designers to ensure parts work harmoniously in every vehicle fitment. TRW parts include OE accessories which customize our products to the maximum. TRW is committed to continuous improvement and the steering and suspension programme has been subjected to enhancements in the distinctive TRW style, using all the experience of TRW OE processes and testing methods.

Testing

TRW sets the standard within the aftermarket ensuring every steering and suspension part we produce meets stringent vehicle manufacturer quality standards. To deliver on this promise, TRW undertakes a comprehensive and extensive testing programme. This incorporates both testing in our world-class laboratories and real life testing on the road:

• Functional tests including stringent analysis of axial and radial elasticity, rotation/articulation torque, break away torque, buckling load, tension load and pull out/push out tests.
• Acoustic measurements to ensure driver comfort
• Strength tests
• Environmental resistance tests
• Wear tests
• Drive tests
• Assembly technique testing of all critical safety features
• Dynamic testing of complete units to ensure leak free performance
• Extensive on the road testing
