TecDoc

TecDoc is a joint electronic automotive parts catalogue containing in excess of 20,000 vehicles, 900,000 parts and 200,000 illustrations in 16 languages and from 150 brands. The catalogue provides the automotive aftermarket with standardised and continuously updated data for identifying and ordering spare parts.

TRW Automotive Aftermarket has recently been nominated a TecDoc certified data supplier. This high-status certification means that TRW has fulfilled stringent evaluation criteria in relation to the quality of its data, for both its TRW steering and suspension and Lucas braking programmes. TRW received the certificate for the data supply of the CD1 2005 – the first time that TecDoc launched the “Certified Supplier” award.

As part of its quality management processes, TecDoc has introduced various measures to improve the quality of its data, products and services as far as possible; an element of this improvement is the introduction of the data supplier certificate.

Francois Augnet, aftermarket vice president for Europe and Asia Pacific commented: “Having worked with TecDoc for several years, and being one of their valued shareholders, we are very pleased to receive this certification, signifying the quality of our data and extensive service we provide to our customers”.

The data supplier certification was introduced in 2004 and, every quarter, TecDoc assesses all data supplied by the manufacturers according to clearly defined criteria. The ‘TecDoc Certified Data Supplier’ quality badge is awarded to all suppliers who meet or exceed the criteria.

Additionally, the results of this evaluation are reported back to the parts manufacturers to ensure continuous improvement in data quality.
