Manufacturing is at the heart of TRW Automotive Aftermarket. The
business philosophy is to ensure the best possible control of the
sources of its products. By making more than 90 per cent of our
braking range for the independent aftermarket in-house, you can
be assured of exceptional quality, breadth of range and reliability
of delivery. TRW maintains a unique position, being the only manufacturer
to produce all major components of the braking system. Having recently
invested more than €100 million in improving its aftermarket
manufacturing facilities in Europe, TRW remains totally committed
to continuously enhancing its capabilities.
Original Equipment
TRW Automotive Aftermarket is an integral part of one of the world’s top ten global suppliers. It manufactures products within TRW OE
manufacturing facilities in Europe, as well as within its dedicated
aftermarket factories. Product quality is guaranteed and TRW can
be first to market by drawing upon its extensive OE knowledge.
Id
TRW Automotive Aftermarket has launched Id, a revolutionary internet
diagnostics tool. With Id, customers do not need to purchase expensive
diagnostic equipment, which can often be quickly out of date. Instead, they pay an affordable monthly subscription, offering the essential elements of serial diagnostics, technical information, training and support. Garages are able to
share their diagnostic experiences online so that all customers
can benefit from best practices. Comprehensive Petrol & Diesel
Engine Management diagnostics are complemented by airbag and anti-lock
braking system technology across a wide range of ‘all makes’
manufacturers. TRW will also cover its emerging OE systems, with
all updates being provided regularly to customers via downloads

Range Coverage
TRW Automotive Aftermarket has comprehensive braking, steering and suspension programs:
- 98 per cent parc coverage for braking
- 92 per cent and growing parc coverage for steering and suspension
The business is currently developing plans to introduce TRW’s
strength in occupant safety systems through its aftermarket organisation,
initially in the vehicle manufacturer service sector. The aftermarket
portfolio will fully reflect TRW’s OE leadership in safety
systems.
Chassis Systems
TRW is an original equipment leader in active safety systems – braking, steering, suspension and vehicle dynamic control. The aftermarket is the leading chassis systems business in Europe, marketing its products in distinctive TRW branded packaging.
TRW leads the world in OE steering and suspension and the aftermarket
business can draw directly from this position. This means that TRW
can put together the best possible program for the aftermarket.
The whole range is based on OE technical specification and distinctive
styling, such as TRW-branded rubber and bottom caps, colour-coded
clamping rings, fitting accessories and OE plating.
Added Value Support
With manufacturing and OE credibility at the centre of its business,
the aftermarket focuses on ensuring that TRW is the right partner
for its customer network. This involves providing a comprehensive
package of support, from technical information and training to marketing
materials and best-in-class catalogues.
