Brake Discs with integrated bearings and ABS Sensor Rings

As a leading supplier of chassis systems to the independent aftermarket, TRW is committed to providing only the best quality and service to its customers. Brake discs are no exception – and TRW now offers an exclusive range of discs with integrated bearings and ABS sensor rings.

The introduction of this added value feature has all the needs of the mechanic and end user in mind, who should be aware of the following:

  • The bearings and sensor rings are critical safety components and should be replaced each time the disc is changed.
  • If a disc with integrated bearings reaches its minimum thickness, it should be replaced.
  • Removing the old disc typically destroys the old bearing.
  • When removing the ABS phonic ring, there is a risk of it being destroyed.
  • Using the old sensor ring and bearing from the worn disc highly increases the risk of damage to the end product. In addition, it is important that the bearings are not damaged when replacing the discs.

TRW offers the right solution to its customers.

Firstly, TRW provides mounted wheel bearings assembled with innovative equipment which ensures correct pressing in of the wheel bearings. The second advantage is the ABS phonic ring. TRW delivers two kinds – toothed or magnetic – according to the OE requirement. The magnetic version covers the ABS systems with active sensors. Finally, TRW adds fixing screws and dust caps.

A range of part numbers is now available from TRW Automotive Aftermarket, with plans for introducing additional references according to market demand.

These new discs can be easily identified. The standard TRW part number has BS at the end, e.g. DF****BS. B for bearing and S for single packed discs.
